If research has not been done where would we be regarding Leukemia? During our stay at the hospital we met several patients with Leukemia diagnoses. As I understood there has been braketroughs in developing new medicine for treathment of patients in this group. Its wounderfull to hear of this! During the time I spent searching  for target treatment for Esthers diagnosis I got in touch with several doctors. They were motivated but always inhibited by economy.  I gues it all boils down to money. 

We often hear of new medicine with a high pricetag. Goverment discuss weather it should be offered to patients in need. Medical companies are being criticised for dealing with unetical prices while they say its nessesary funding the costs of research. This topic is beyond my knowledge but I sometimes wounder why governments leaw so much research to be conducted by private companies? Cancer effects society as a whole. The cost of cancer is astronomical ( treatment, care, negative effects on family etc ). As far as I have heard its even expected that cancer will continue to grow. 

We have been fighting cancer for 100 years. Must we continue for another 100 years...?

Ewings Sarcoma is a difficult and complicated disease. But one day Ewings Sarcoma will find its treatment, even metastatic Ewings Sarcoma. The question is how long must we wait? It should motivate developing a cure but things develop slowly............
